[MARCEAU FRANCOIS SEVERIN]: (1769-1796) French General who served in the French Revolutionary Wars and was immortalised in Lord Byron's Childe Harold's Pilgrimage. An antique folio (23 x 33 cm; image 12.5 x 20.5) stipple engraving of Francois Severin Marceau by Francois Bonneville, the oval image depicting the General in a head and shoulders pose wearing his uniform and with a caption in French beneath. Published at Rue Jacques in Paris, c.1797. Some light age wear and a few minor stains to the borders, otherwise VG
