LEHAR FRANZ: (1870-1948) Austro-Hungarian composer of operettas including The Merry Widow. A.L.S., F Lehar, to the verso of a picture postcard of Budapest's National Palace, Budapest, 11th April 1924, to Dr. Max Franckel in Vienna, in German. Lehar writes, in full, 'I am busy again. Clo-Clo premieres on Tuesday. Rehearsals are currently day and night'. Some very light, extremely minor age wear, VG

Lehar's operetta Clo-Clo had received its world premiere at the Burgertheater in Vienna on 8th March 1924. This was followed by its first performance in Budapest a month later, on 15th April 1924.
