[ALBUM AMICORUM] - [GALLAND JEAN-PAUL]: (1913-1991) Swiss politician who served as State Chancellor of the Canton of Geneva 1961-78, and later as Honorary Chancellor 1978-91. The dark green leather bound 4to Guest Book of Galland containing an exceptional and diverse selection of over 150 signatures, letters and signed photographs etc., including (in order of appearance within the volume) Bernard Law Montgomery (1887-1976) British Field Marshal of World War II- A.L.S., Montgomery of Alamein, one page, small 4to, Palace Hotel, Murren, 7th January 1953, to Galland, on the printed stationery of the Deputy Supreme Commander, Allied Powers Europe. Montgomery returns a photograph which he has signed, and thanks Galland for having met him in Geneva, adding that he will return to the city on 15th February ´on which day I will leave your airport in my aeroplane at 1200 hrs for Paris´, together with a vintage signed 5 x 7 photograph of Montgomery standing in a full-length pose close to some aircraft steps and alongside several other individuals. Signed (´Montgomery of Alamein, Field Marshal´) in bold turquoise fountain pen ink to a light area at the head of the image and dated 22nd January 1953 in his hand; Felix Bloch (1905-1983) Swiss-American physicist, Nobel Prize winner for Physics, 1952 & Pierre Micheli (1905-1989) Swiss diplomat who served as Ambassador to France 1956-61 (with a third signature on a page featuring a photograph of the signing of the agreements of the European Organisation for Nuclear Research [CERN] on 11th June 1955), Anthony Eden (1897-1977) British Prime Minister 1955-57, Harold Macmillan (1894-1986) British Prime Minister 1957-63.
