[THE WIZARD OF OZ]: BURKE BILLIE (1884-1970) American actress, remembered for her role as Glinda, the Good Witch of the North in The Wizard of Oz (1939). A good vintage signed sepia 8 x 10 photograph of Burke in a head and shoulders pose. Photograph by Clarence Sinclair Bull and bearing his (largely obscured) credit stamp to the verso. Signed by the actress in fountain pen ink with her name alone to a light area at the base of the image. An ink annotation to the verso in the hand of a collector indicates that the signature was obtained in person 'outside El Capitan Theatre, Hollywood, during run of "Anything Goes", September 5th 1935'. Some heavy traces of former mounting to the verso, and a couple of very light, minor creases to the corners of the borders, otherwise about VG
