LOREN SOPHIA: (1934- ) Italian actress, Academy Award winner for Best Actress in 1961 for her role as Cesira in La Ciociara & PONTI CARLO: (1912-2007) Italian film producer, the husband of Loren from 1957-62, and 1966 until his death. Signed 7 x 9 photograph by both Loren and Ponti individually, the vintage United Press International image depicting the couple seated happily together in half-length poses, looking into each other´s eyes, Loren holding a lit cigarette in one hand as she places her other hand at the side of Ponti´s neck, the original printed caption affixed to the verso stating that the photograph was captured at a party at the Four Seasons restaurant in New York on 25th July 1962 and that ´Miss Loren flew in from Europe earlier in the day for her first visit to the U.S. since she won an Academy Award recently. The party was given to celebrate the success of "Boccaccio ´70", [a] film in which she is featured, and to honor her for receipt of the Academy Award´.
