LAGERFELD KARL: (1933-2019) German fashion designer. A wonderful original collage created and signed by Lagerfeld to the recto of a postcard, n.p., 17th April 1989. In black ink the designer has neatly drawn the foot of a lady wearing a high-heeled shoe featuring numerous close vertical black lines, to which Lagerfeld has ingeniously added a stilleto heel created by an up-turned printed image of the Eiffel Tower which he has neatly affixed to the card. The postcard further features a frame of neat red and black borders. Signed by Lagerfeld in black ink, ´La Tour Eiffel, Bon Anniversaire, Karl Lagerfeld´, and dated in his hand in the year of the 100th Anniversary of the famous Paris landmark. To the base of the card Lagerfeld has also written ´C´est le talon aiguille de Paris´ (Translation: ´It's the Parisian stiletto heel´). Addressed to the verso in another hand to a French collector and featuring a further printed image of the Eiffel Tower. Rare and desirable in this form. VG
